Folded Radius

Synopsis

obj = FRDIM/(origin),arc,[VIEW,'View Name',][{ENDOF|CENTER|TANTO},] "PMOD3",obj[,VIEW,'View Name'][,ANGLE,angle],x,y[,Dim. text][,APPEND,App. text]

Description

Creates a folded radius dimension by specifying a previously defined arc and one other object. A positional modifier is used for the object to specify which end of the object should be used as the offset center point.

Parameters

Parameter

Description

(origin)

The dimensional text location. For the methods of specification, see the Dimension Statements overview.

arc

The existing arc, circular centerline, or bolt circle centerline to be dimensioned.

VIEW

Minor word that indicates that a view name is to follow.

'View Name'

This is a string variable or literal that is the view name.

ENDOF

Minor word which indicates that the end point of an arc or line be used as the offset center point of the folded radius. The end to be considered is further determined by a positional modifier (PMOD3).

CENTER

Minor word which indicates that the arc center be used as the offset center point of folded radius. For this option the positional modifier (PMOD3) is omitted.

TANTO

Minor word which indicates that the arc tangent will be used as the offset center point of the folded radius. The tangent to be considered is further determined by a positional modifier (PMOD3).

PMOD3

Determines which end of the object or position on the arc is to be used as the offset center point of the folded radius. If points or arc centers are used for the offset center point, you can omit the positional modifier. For all other objects the positional modifier must be present.

obj

The existing object which is used as the offset center point of the folded radius. Cylindrical centerline and symmetrical centerline can also be used for the offset center point.

VIEW

Minor word that indicates that a view name is to follow.

'View Name'

This is a string variable or literal that is the view name.

ANGLE

Minor word which indicates the folded angle. If not specified the folded angle is 45 degrees.

Angle

The angle, in degrees, at which the radius dimension line is folded. The valid range of a folded angle is between 0 and 180 degree. If an invalid angle is used then the folded angle defaults to 45 degrees.

x,y

The X and Y coordinates of the fold position where the radius dimension line is broken into two parallel offset segments. The two offset segments are connected by a line which is at fold angle degrees.

Dim. text

A string of up to 50 characters you may enter if the system generated value and text are not desirable. You can enter the desired dimension and/or text between single quotes ('dimension text'), or you can use a previously declared string variable.

APPEND

Minor word which indicates that the text in the next field should be appended to the dimension text.

App text

Text string which is appended to the dimension text (APPEND,'string','string'...). Each string constitutes a new line and may contain a maximum of 132 characters. The maximum number of characters which may be appended to a dimension is 600. The placement of appended text is controlled by the global parameter &APSITE.
