Overview | Statement List

Create a Boundary Entity

Synopsis

obj list = BOUND/[CLOSED|OPEN,][TOLER,intol,outtol,][{ON|TANTO,}objlist1]+ [VIEW, 'View Name']

Description

Creates a boundary object by specifying a list of previously defined objects. A single boundary object is defined from a series of intersecting curves.

You can use the BOUND statement to create a list of existing boundary objects which are to be crosshatched using the HATCH statement. You can also use BOUND for doing analysis using the ANLSIS statement, or any time you need to create a boundary for GRIP NC applications.

Parameters

Parameter

Description

CLOSED

A minor word which indicates that a closed boundary is to be created.

OPEN

A minor word which indicates that an open boundary is to be created.

If you do not specify whether you want an open or closed boundary the default is CLOSED.

TOLER

Minor word that indicates that boundary tolerances are to be specified.

intol

The maximum allowed tolerance that the boundary may deviate from the defining curves into the part.

outtol

The maximum allowed tolerance that the boundary may deviate from the defining curves away from the part.

ON

A parameter that describes the relationship of the cutter to the boundary for the machining operation. ON indicates that the center line of the cutter is to remain on the specified curve during the machining operation.

TANTO

A parameter that describes the relationship of the cutter to the boundary for the machining operation. TANTO indicates that the side of the cutter is to remain tangent to the specified curve during the machining operation.

The default setting is TANTO when neither ON nor TANTO is specified.

The ON and TANTO condition may change with each curve or array of curves, however, no more than 20 changes are allowed per statement.

objlist1

A list of curves that establish the boundaries. The objlist1 may also contain points. When a point is used it indicates the starting position on the previous curve in the list. A point must be used when multiple intersections exist and must be on or near the desired intersection. If a point is not specified, the start point of the current curve is used.

NOTE: A maximum of 2100 objects may be used to define a boundary.

VIEW

Minor word that indicates that a view name is to follow.

'View Name'

This is a string variable or literal that is the view name. The view name is the drawing member view associated with the boundary objects when creating a dimension or an annotation.
