Both GRIP executable and object files ( ".grx" and ".gri" ) can be shared between different platforms provided you adhere to the following criteria (note that we only mention executables, but the same is true of object files):
The executable file must not contain any platform specific code. For example, pathnames for files must be correct for the platform where you run the executable.
The executable is only sharable between machines which share the same byte order storage. This is sometimes referred to as little-endian and big-endian architecture.
A GRIP executable compiled on any one of the following machines can be shared by one of the others.
Alpha Digital UNIX, and Windows NT
The same is also true for these machines:
IBM-AIX, HP-UX, SGI, Sun
For example, you could create an executable on Windows NT and execute it on Alpha Digital UNIX. However, you cannot create an executable on Windows NT and run it on HP-UX.
